Interview transcript 2.25pm, 28/12/08.

- Why do you keep asking about that?

- Because you can't make new memories, because you can't remember about the events prior to the onset of the condition, you are creating this alternative to fill in the blanks. It's well recorded, and it's not just that that is the problem. What I'm concerned about is that this new memory you are trying to make, or what you remember, this is just not real, Christopher, it didn't happen, and this, what you have built, this is really worrying. I don't want this to be the world you go to when you are not with me, I want to try and get past it. So we're going to try and go further back, back to before the world ended. Do you think we can do that?

- Before they attached me to the television? Before you pushed out my eyes and stuck needles in my ears? When I still had my hands?

- Christopher, we didn't take your eyes. This is what I mean. But yes, if it helps you to think like that, let's go back before then.

- OK then. I will take you home.

From Dr. A. Grayson's journal, 30th December 2009

- The paramedics report they were unable to find his eyes. We think he may have eaten them.

Korsakovia is a new single-player mod from thechineseroom, creators of the cult Half Life 2 mod Dear Esther. It is based around the simple question - what happens if you turn off the visual representation of agents, the normal cues players use to predict behaviour and motive? Around this experiment, Korsakovia mixes the abstract story-driven experience of Dear Esther with more traditional gameplay. The result is a survival horror FPS that aims to trap the player in the splintering fragments of a destroyed mind.
